Daily COVID Update: (June 15)

Illinois remains on track to enter the next phase of reopening next week, as the number of new COVID-19 cases on Monday was 473. The overall case count now stands at 133,016.

Another 19 deaths were also announced - bringing the statewide death toll to 6,326.

More than 1.2 million tests have been administered in the state since the pandemic arrived. The Illinois Department of Public Health says the positive test rate for the previous 7 days (June 8-14) remained steady at 3%.
LOCAL CASES (3:15pm Update)

Effingham County Health Department:

  • 8 overall positive cases of COVID-19, with six recoveries and one death.
  • 858 negative tests results.

Egyptian Health Department:

  • Total COVID-19 positive cases stands at 11, with 11 recoveries.
  • 1,285 tests administered in the three-county service area

Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department:

  • 7 new cases in Williamson County - 2 girls under 10, a woman and a man in their 20s, a man in his 40s, a man in his 50s, and a woman in her 60s.
  • Total COVID-19 positive cases now stands at 90 cases with 61 recoveries and one death in Williamson County, 12 cases with 12 recoveries in Franklin County.

Jackson County Health Department:

  • 2 new deaths reported - a man in his 40s and a man in his 60s.
  • No new cases reported.
  • Jackson County's total positive test count is 319, with 271 recoveries and 16 deaths.

Jefferson County Public Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall there have been 106 positive cases of COVID-19, with 90 recoveries and 14 deaths.
  • 2,081 negative test results.

Marion County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall, there have been 56 positive cases of COVID-19, with 55 recoveries.
  • 1,781 negative test results.

Perry County Health Department:

  • 1 new case reported - a woman in her 30s.
  • Overall, 44 positive cases of COVID-19, with 42 recoveries.
  • 933 negative test results.

Randolph County Health Department:

  • Overall, 277 positive cases of COVID-19, with 268 recoveries and seven deaths.
  • 2,062 negative test results.

Richland County Public Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall, 4 positive cases of COVID-19, with 4 recoveries in Richland County. Two additional cases were identified, but those patients live outside Richland County.
  • 1,084 negative test results.

Southern Seven Health Department:

  • 7 new cases reported - a boy under 10, a teen girl and a teen boy, a woman in her 20s, and a woman in her 60s from Johnson County; a boy under 5, and a man in his 30s from Union County.
  • Overall, Southern Seven reports 275 total confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 172 recoveries and 15 deaths.
