Illinois has passed over six million tests in the battle against COVID-19. Governor JB Pritzker says harsher restrictions in Region four, the Metro East, could be lifted this week.
"And if the region sustains an average below the 6.5 percent threshold, Region four could see a return to the looser mitigations, as soon as Friday."
Pritzker says the state is now running an average of 60-thousand tests per day.
IDPH Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike urges residents to get the flu shot to help lesson the burden on Illinois hospitals and clinics.
