US Senator Dick Durbin is encouraging Illinoisans to get health insurance coverage before open enrollment ends in December.
US Senator Dick Durbin reminded Illinoisans Friday that time is running out to enroll for Health Insurance through the Affordable Care Act.
Senator Durbin says Illinois has 600,000 people that take advantage of the ACA along with him and members of Congress.
Senator Durbin says during this pandemic health insurance is more important than ever.
“It includes coverage for mental health counseling and drug addiction treatment, we desperately need it with all the talk COVID-19, we don’t talk as much as we once did about opioids, but that is still an issue and drug addiction is still a very serious issue we face.”
Illinois has more than 170 plans available through eight carriers.
Open enrollment ends December 15.
