It's been more than a year since the COVID-19 pandemic began, and the Southern 7 Health Department invites the public to participate in a COVID-19 REMEMBRANCE DAY on May 4. Shawnna Rhine, Community Outreach Coordinator for Southern 7 says the date was chosen because that is when Southern 7 reported it's first COVID-19 death in the service area.
"We're going to have a moment of silence for those that we have lost. And, are going to be focusing on what we need to do, to move forward."
Rhine says the ceremony will take place at 2:00PM at the Southern 7 Health Department's Administrative Office in Ullin, but adds it will be streamed lived on their Facebook page.
Rhine adds she encourages all counties in the region to have an event as well. To learn more you can call 618-634-2297.
