The Smith Alzheimer's Center at SIU Medicine is hosting its annual Brain Aging Conference on Thursday, April 3.
It's designed to help caregivers of loved ones with dementia and Alzheimer's better understand the disease and how to best provide care.
The conference will feature clinicians, counselors and experienced caregivers. This conference will provide expert presentations as well as opportunities to engage with speakers.
This year, the Brain Aging Conference is expanding across the state as 14 satellite locations to give caregivers a chance to "attend" closer to home.
These locations include the Campbell Hill Community Center, Egyptian Area Agency on Aging in Carterville, Southeastern Area Agency on Aging in Mt. Carmel, the Sparta Community Hospital's Broadway Plaza and the Kaskaskia College facility in Salem.
Anyone can attend the conference for free but registration is required.
