Land of Smiles Brings Oral Health Lessons to Young Students

Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation’s Land of Smiles program visited Adams School in Creal Springs this week, teaching 135 students from pre-K to third grade how to fight cavities and keep their teeth healthy.

The free, interactive program uses fun characters like Captain Super Grin and Terri Tooth Fairy to make lessons on brushing, nutrition, and dental checkups engaging. Each child also received a free health kit with a toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss. This fall, Land of Smiles will reach more than 25,000 students across 110 Illinois schools.

Since launching 16 years ago, the program has educated over 623,000 children statewide about the importance of oral health.
