The 2025 Illinois Rural and Small-Town Health Summit is coming up Wednesday, October 15 in Springfield.

It’s supported by the SIU School of Medicine, the SIU Simmons School of Law.

WSIU's Brad Palmer spoke with Dr. Sowmy Thuppal, vice chair of the Department of Population Science and Policy at the SIU Medical School, about the summit, starting with the focus this year, entitled Health Care Workforce: Learnings and Transformation in a Post-Pandemic Environment.
