A Murphysboro man has been convicted of Aggravated Domestic Battery, Aggravated Battery, and Domestic Battery following a two-day jury trial in Jackson County.
The State's Attorney's office says the evidence showed Tyrone Webb battered his girlfriend over a period of five days in May, causing bruising to her head, arms, and side. On the fifth day, he cut her thigh with a razor blade, which required medical treatment and multiple staples to close the wound.
Aggravated Domestic Battery carries maximum penalty of up to seven years in prison. Aggravated Battery carries a penalty of up to five years and Domestic Battery carries a maximum penalty of up to one year in the county jail.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled for February 16.
