An arrest has been made related to the February fire at the old Walnut St. Baptist Church in Carbondale

Fire broke out at the old Walnut Street Baptist Church in Carbondale on Monday, February 6

A suspect has been arrested for setting the fire that burned a vacant church building in Carbondale last February.

Carbondale Police detectives and arson investigators identified 35-year-old Ramil Mize of Carbondale as an arson suspect in the fire at old Walnut Street Baptist Church. The fire was contained to the 2nd and 3rd floors.

Police officers and detectives arrested Mize Thursday at a residence in the 500 block of West Kennicott Street.
