A Marion man has been convicted in a 2022 shooting incident at a Carbondale business.

The Jackson County State's attorney reports 21-year-old Zoremoreyon Moore has been found guilty of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm, two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm, and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

Carbondale Police were dispatched to Raawi’s General Store after shots were fired in March 2022. They found the victim, Jakobi Shered, with a gunshot wound to his back, chest, and side. Based on video surveillance, Carbondale Police were able to identify Moore as a person of interest in the shooting.

A few days later, Marion Police stopped Moore and recovered a loaded Glock 9mm handgun in his possession. Moore later confessed to the shooting.

He faces a sentence of between 31 and 85-years in prison.
