Republican candidate for Governor Paul Schimpf made his last stop on a statewide tour Thursday, introducing his running mate Carolyn Schofield to supporters.
Paul Schimpf and his running mate Carolyn Schofield wrapped up their roll out introduction tour in southern Illinois.
Schofield lives in Crystal Lake and has more than 20 years of public service. She currently sits on the McHenry County Board and is a member of the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning.
Schimpf says together they will listen to the problems Illinoisans have and present solutions to make the state better.
“We believe that the strength of Illinois is its people, not its government. We are going to put forth policies and ideas that limit government overreach in return power to the people of Illinois. That's what we stand for and that's the choice that people will be able to make.”
The candidate filing period for Illinois just opened this week. Schimpf and other Republicans hoping to unseat Democrat JB Pritzker will face off in the June 28th primary.
