The company found a potential contamination risk in its packaging

Conagra is recalling more than 2.5 million pounds of canned meat, after the company says a packaging defect may cause the food may become contaminated, without showing any outward signs.

The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service reported the recall this week - which includes meat and poultry products distributed nationwide between December 12 of last year and January 13 of this year. The recall includes Armour Star, Kroger, Goya, Prairie Belt, Hargis House, Grace, and Great Value brand Vienna chicken sausages and other products.

Anyone who has already purchased the affected items should either throw them away, or return them to the store.
