A Johnson County man was found dead in his cell at the Massac County Jail.
At the request of the Massac County Sheriff’s Department, the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating the death of 43-year-old Dennis Schapmire of Ozark, who was found in his cell Wednesday morning.
An autopsy was performed at the Williamson County Morgue and the cause of death is pending toxicology results.
