The region's first snow storm of the season has left up to a foot and a half of snow across the quad-state.
The national weather service says snow fall amounts range from 10 to 15 inches across much of southern Illinois; 4-6 inches across southeast Missouri and into far southern Illinois and western Kentucky; and anywhere from 4-10 inches of snow across southwest Indiana. Overall, the storm ranks as about the third largest for the region since 1999.
Friday Jackson County Board Chairman John Rendleman issued a state of emergency because of the snow. All of the all county offices were closed.
