Carbondale has a new Fire Chief.
Interim City Manager Gary Williams named Ted Lomax the new Chief on Friday.Lomax is a 25-year veteran of the Carbondale Fire Department, serving as a firefighter, Inspector, Captain, and Assistant Chief.
He follows John Michalesko, who announced his retirement earlier this year. Lomax has also served on the Giant City School Board.
Lomax's first day as Chief will be November 9.
