In Carbondale, the New Arts Jazztet, a Southern Illinois jazz group comprising SIU faculty, will perform at Jazz Vespers, a Lenten evening prayer service at Epiphany Lutheran Church led by Pastor Brian Coffey at 5 p.m. Sunday, March 12th

In Makanda, join the “Birding Hike” with Vicki Lang-Mendenhall, park volunteer and Southern Illinois Audobon Society member as she guides participants along the ¾ mile Indian Creek Nature Trail. John & Marsha Ryan Bioethicist Radhika Rao will lead a Lecture Wednesday, March 8th A reception begins at 5:00 p.m. and the lecture is at 5:30 p.m. at the Lesar Law Building. "Reproductive Rights and Wrongs: Roe, Dobbs, and the Future of Abortion" The lecture is free and open to the public.
