Fall In Love with a Book at Marion Carnegie Library. They invite you to meet some new books during the “Book Speed Dating” event on Thursday, June 15th from 4 to 7:30 pm in the Library Commons on the Main Floor. This is a come-and-go event. No registration is required.
· In Carbondale, The Sunset Concerts Series kicks off June 22 with Skylar Rodgers. Enjoy six weeks of free musical entertainment for all ages and interests. This summer’s concerts begin on the steps of Shryock Auditorium at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and the venue alternates between the scenic campus spot and two other locations in the city of Carbondale. The outdoor performances, held each Thursday evening through July 27, are all free. Everyone is welcome to attend.
In Marion, The SI Coalition for Children and Families host Kid’s night at Mt Dew Park on Wednesday June 21st See the Thrillbillies take on the Alton River Dragons and the Coalition’s “Be A Changemaker” campaign will be revealed on the big screen during the game.
Brown Bag Concerts are Every Wednesday at Noon at the Carbondale Town Square Pavilion. Bring your own lunch and enjoy live music from Loose Gravel tomorrow. The performance will also be streamed live on Carbondale Main Street’s Facebook page.
