This week in labor history in 1912 – The Eight-hour work day was adopted for federal employees.

Laborers’ Local 773 hosts the Edward M. Smith Scholarship Golf Tournament at Kokopelli Golf Club in Marion on June 22. The Annual Tournament is the organization's main source of funding for the Connell F. Smith-Homer Brown Scholarship Fund. At the event, golfers will have the opportunity to enjoy a day on the green with free breakfast as well as a lunch & dinner for all participants.
