In Carbondale, Fred Martino, Executive Director of WSIU, will be the featured speaker at the Southern Illinois learning in Retirement meeting on Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church. He will discuss efforts to build civic engagement and media innovation at WSIU and explain how the community can help in these efforts. The presentation is free and open to the public. In Alto Pass, Rendleman Orchards is celebrating their 150-year anniversary of the family farm. On Wednesday, June 28th at 3pm, They will mark the sesquicentennial year, with a Bell Ringing Ceremony. This event will commemorate the rich past but will also ring in a new era of growth and prosperity. You’re invited to join them as they open their 150th season to the public.

In Mt Carmel, Wabash Valley College is hosting The Backyard Bash Community Party on Friday, June 23rd from 9:00 AM to Noon. Children and families are invited to the free on the college campus. Enjoy Music, a bounce house, free lunch, snow cones, crafts, games and more.
