The Johnston City Fireworks Spectacular is on June 30th at Arrowhead lake Amphitheater from 5 to 930pm.  Hear live music by Leight July and Edwin Linson, there will be food, vendors and kids’ activities.  All will lead up to the highly anticipated Fireworks show which begins at 9:30. 

In Mt Vernon, The Jefferson County Historical Society presents “A Vocal Musical Program” with Dee Ann Schnautz, a vocal artist who will showcase traditional, southern gospel and country music to offer encouragement and hope to others. She will be joined by Madonna Imel and Peggy Bode. Join them Saturday, June 24, 2:00 pm in the Schweinfurth Museum.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Illinois is hosting weekly summer programs through August 4th. The program will focus on exploring southern Illinois and its many outdoor treasures. The daily schedule is 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Additionally, Summer Brain Gain, a project based active learning program is each morning from 7:30 AM to 11:30 PM for kids in K through 8 and lunch is included. Registration online at www.bgcsi.org
