In Carbondale, The Jackson County Stage Company Presents "ALICE IN WONDERLAND" based on the classic by Lewis Carrol. The show opens tomorrow and runs through July 9. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances start at 7:30 p.m. Sunday performances start at 2:00 p.m. All performances will be at The Varsity Center. Visit www.stagecompany.org for more information.

In Steeleville, the town’s annual 4th of July Celebration begins on Friday and continues through July 4th. Enjoy the parade, street dances, carnival rides, fireworks, food stands, craft fair, and more. Events take place at the Steeleville American Legion Post.

Marion Rotary Club hosts a Freedom Celebration tonight from 6 to 8pm at the Tilden & Rosalie Parks Amphitheater at the Harry Crisp Sports Complex. Bring a chair and enjoy a free concert with live music form Aaron R. Smith and D. Brian Smith at 7. There will also be food trucks and kids activities.
