ON THIS DAY in 2015 17-year-old Lydia Ko of New Zealand becomes the youngest golfer in men's or women's golf history to be ranked No. 1 in the world.

Illinois Extension will host a fruit tree workshop tomorrow on the topic of variety selection, rootstock selection, and pruning basics. The small fruits program on Feb. 22 will cover blueberries, brambles strawberries, and edible landscape applications. Fruit trees and small fruits can add a sweet addition to your garden. Both workshops are free and will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the Jackson County Extension office in Murphysboro.
