1968 – Some 1,300 sanitation workers begin what is to become a 64-day strike in Memphis, ultimately winning union recognition and wage increases.

Local 773’s Volunteer Organizing Committee (V.O.C) is currently collecting canned soup for Heaven’s Kitchen and the Fowler-Bonan Foundation. In Marion, compete in the inaugural Midwest Cornhole Clash sponsored by the Laborers Care Foundation. The event is expected to become the highlight of the Midwest's cornhole calendar. Players and sponsors are invited to join the fun at Mountain Dew Park on Saturday, April 27th. Teams and sponsors are filling up fast.
