This is your WSIU Union Almanac for Thursday, March 14 brought to you by Liuna, the Laborers International Union of North America, the Laborers local 773 and by Ullico Insurance and Investments.

This week in labor history, in 2000 – Boeing Co. and the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) come to terms on a new contract, settling the largest white-collar walkout in U.S. history. SPEEA represented some 22,000 workers, of whom 19,000 honored picket lines for 40 days.

In Marion, make plans to bring the family for the annual Liuna/Local 773 Easter Egg Hunt. 2,500 toy filled Easter Eggs will be filled for children 0-10 years old on the back lawn at Laborers Local 773 on March 30th at 10am.
