The Herrin City Library presents "A Slideshow Presentation: In Bloody Williamson" on Friday, June 21, 2024, at 2:00 pm, at Herrin City Library. Herrin History Room Lead Research Librarian, Lisa Carnaghi has prepared an amazing slideshow of the events featured in the book, "In Bloody Williamson," by former Sheriff George Galligan in collaboration with Chief Deputy Jack Wilkinson. This event is sponsored by the Herrin History Room and is free and open to the public.
In Mt Vernon, Cedarhurst Center for the Arts is hosting Family Fun Pop-Ups at Veteran’s Memorial park. Pop-ups are free and open to the public featuring learning activities, arts & crafts, story time and snacks. Each event date will feature a different theme. In Murphysboro, the IDNR is offering a free fishing program for kids at Lake Murphysboro State Park this month. The program is geared towards kids ages 5-12 years old and will cover the basics of fishing. All supplies will be provided. Join the fun on Friday, June 14th from 9 to 11am.
