Carbondale public Library is offering an Adult Fiction Writers’ Workshop tonight from 6 to 7:30pm. Fiction enthusiasts and aspiring writers of all experience levels will enjoy sharing and learning among peers. Grow your writing skills at the monthly event. Everyone is welcome. In Marion, The 2024 Southern Illinois Made Expo is Saturday, July 20th and Sunday, July 21st from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Pavilion. Exhibitors from all over the region are invited to display and sell their innovative products, unique creations, and tasty treats and showcase fabulous Southern Illinois destinations. The event is also open to the public. All proceeds from admission and exhibitor fees will go be split between the Honor Flight of Southern Illinois, This Able Veteran, and Down the Leash Service Dogs.

Register today! program will be led by Illinois Extension Forest Management and Ecology Specialist Kevin Rohling and Horticulture Educator Kimberly Rohling.
Participants will meet on Monday, July 22, at 8 p.m. at the Harmony Trail Parking Lot for the 90-minute stroll. Attendees should bring a camera, headlamp or flashlight, since the hike will conclude at dark. If you would like to assist with citizen science efforts, please download the iNaturalist app beforehand. Event may be canceled or postponed depending on weather conditions.
