Many communities in the region will have fireworks displays and celebrations tonight.

SIU and the city of Carbondale host the annual Independence Day fireworks display on campus at 9:15 p.m. near the Banterra Center. Parking Lots 18 and 56 are perfect for parking and viewing plus there will be food trucks on site before the Fireworks at 9:15. Learn more about the show and parking details. In the event of rain on July 4, the fireworks will take place tomorrow night.

The Marion Knights of Columbus invites you to their annual Independence Celebration today beginning at 4:30. Enjoy a carnival, food trucks, and live music from Shannon Arview and Southern Grit Band. Fireworks at Dusk with a rain date for tomorrow night if necessary.

Goreville hosts Freedom Fest 2024 today at the Goreville City Park with activities and live music starting at 7. Fireworks at dusk.

In Marion, it’s Military Appreciation Night at Mtn Dew Park. The Thrillbillies game is at 7 with a Fireworks display to follow.

The City of Herrin has a celebration at the city park with live music.

Mount Vernon’s Salute to Freedom & Market Days is at Outland Airport.

Tomorrow night (Fri July 5th), celebrate in Murphysboro at their celebration at Riverside Park with live music, food and fireworks.
