In Carbondale, Molly McCormack will perform songs on the mountain dulcimer for the August 21st meeting of Southern Illinois Learning in Retirement gathering. The presentation is free and will provide music and a brief history of the unique instrument. Coffee hour begins at 930, presentation at 1030 at Epiphany Lutheran Church on Aug. 21st.

The Hub Arts and Cultural Center in Rushville, IL is excited to host a Night Market on August 17th from 5:00 – 9:00 pm at the town square. This year we welcome a wide variety of work from over 20 fine crafters and artisans. The City of Murphysboro kicks off their Sunset Concert Series tomorrow night at Carl Lee Park featuring Country music from Lucas Wayne and The Cottonmouths. Everyone is welcome. Bring a chair and your cooler but leave your dogs at home. Concerts are every Thursday night in August from 6:30-8:30pm.
