ON THIS DAY in 1886, the Statue of Liberty was dedicated by US President Grover Cleveland in New York City. It was celebrated with the city’s first ticket tape confetti parade.

Attend a FREE Men’s Basketball Scrimmage & Halloween Fun Tuesday, October 29, as the Saluki Men's Basketball team hosts a FREE scrimmage against Division III North Park at 6 PM in Banterra Center! Doors open at 5 PM, with Halloween Trick-or-Treat activities for kids, hosted by SIU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Enjoy open seating for the scrimmage and bring the whole family for a fun-filled evening!

A Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program known as LIHEAP is taking applications for financial assistance in paying for home energy services. Residents of Franklin, Jefferson, and Williamson Counties can apply now through August 15th of 2025 or until funding is exhausted.
