On this day in 2018, LeBron James, at the age of 33, became the 7th and youngest player to reach the 30,000 NBA point milestone during a game against the San Antonio Spurs.

CHILI SUPPER AT THE WEST FRANKLIN HISTORICAL DISTRICT is this SATURDAY JANUARY 25TH from 5 to 7pm. The Old Mulkeytown Grade School, 2130 Schoolhouse Road. Olney Central College Softball will host a Winter Hitting Camp on Saturday, February 1 at Britton’s Bullpen in Olney.
-Ages 7-12 will meet from 10 a.m. to noon. A session for those ages 13-17 will be offered from 1 to 3 p.m.
-Check in begins 30 minutes before start time. Participants should bring tennis shoes and a bat. Helmets are optional.
-Early registration is encouraged as each session is limited to 25 participants. Go to https://olneycentralathletics.com/sports/sball/campregistration, to pre-register online. Forms also are available by contacting OCC Softball Coach Nick Short at 618-395-7777, ext. 2223, or email shortn@iecc.edu.

 
The Herrin City Library is offering a new after-school program called STEAM Explorers. Kids are invited to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. Engineering Paper Planes is the first program which is today from 4:00 - 5:00 pm. Upcoming events will be announced on the library Facebook page as well as their website at www.herrincitylibrary.org The program, free and open to the public, is best suited for kids ages 6 -12.
