ON THIS DAY in 1851, the first baseball uniforms were debuted as the NY Knickerbockers donned white shirts, long blue trousers and straw hats.

In Anna, Dayempur Herbals' annual Herbal Medicine Workshop will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Dayempur Farm from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. Participants will be taken on guided tours of the medicinal herb garden which should be in full bloom for the June event! We'll identify plants and discuss how they're grown, and offer a demonstration on how we make herbal tinctures/extracts and oils. Plant starts, books and herbal supplements will be on sale throughout the day.

The City of Carbondale is hosting a public meet-and-greet event will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Carbondale Police Department. This event will provide residents with the opportunity to meet the two finalist candidates for the position of Chief of Police, learn more about their backgrounds, and ask questions regarding their vision for public safety in Carbondale.

The meet-and-greet is free and open to the public.

Southern 7 Health Department will host a free “Stop The Bleed” training June 17 at Caledonia Community Church in Olmsted. The hands-on session runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and is open to 25 participants age 17 and older. The training teaches life-saving techniques to control bleeding emergencies and is offered in partnership with the Regional Hospital Coordinating Center. Attendees will receive a free starter kit. Pre-registration is required at www.southern7.org or by calling the health department
