·On this day in 1975 Film "Jaws", based on the book by Peter Benchley, directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Roy Schneider is released. Today, the film celebrates its 50th Anniversary.

· The Black Chamber of Commerce of Southern Illinois hosts the 3rd Annual Juneteenth Block Party tonight from 5 to 9pm in Carbondale. The celebration will be at Jackson & Gum streets with parking at Hopewell Baptist Church. Honor Ancestors and the meaning of Juneteenth. All are invited to attend this family-friendly event.
