ON THIS DAY in 1793 Alexander Mackenzie reaches the Pacific Ocean, becoming the first Euro-American to complete a transcontinental crossing of Canada.

In Carbondale, the iconic Sunset Concert Series takes place with the final concert this week with family-friendly live music at Turley Park. Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy the music under the stars. All concerts begin at 7 p.m. and last about two hours. Bring refreshments or purchase food and drinks from on-site vendors. Bike Riding for Students & Adults. Thursdays from 5-6pm beginning July 3rd. Biking will be available for students and adults of all ages. Bikes will be provided or you can ride your own. The group meets every Thursday beginning July 3, from 5:00-6:00pm at VHS and ride to the biking trail. Must be proficient in bike riding to participate. Helmets will be provided and are REQUIRED.
