ON THIS DAY in 2013, Disney released the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to Frozen, which won a grammy for best compilation soundtrack for visual media in 2015 and was the 2014 Billboard Album of the Year.

Herrin’s Hometown Christmas is this Saturday, November 29th.Santa arrives at the City Tree for the tree lighting ceremony at 5:15 (corner of North Park Avenue and West Monroe).From 5:30 to 8, enjoy holiday activities at The Herrin Civic Center. Meet Santa, enjoy games, a magical fun show, balloon artist, and write a letter and drop it in Santa’s Mailbox! The whole downtown will have Christmas magic with a live nativity, a live mannequin display and horse-drawn carriage rides. Events are free, but canned food donations can be collected at the Civic Center for the Herrin Food Pantry.

The City of Marion will kick off Very Merry Marion on Sunday, November 30th with their annual Christmas Parade downtown and around tower square. This event kicks off the holidays in Marion and is the first of many events to take place in the month of December. Learn more at www.verymerrymarion.com
