The Navy Band Great Lakes will bring festive cheer to Southern Illinois University with a free holiday concert on Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. in Shryock Auditorium. The family-friendly event will feature seasonal favorites and celebrate 250 years of Navy tradition.
The City of Carbondale is introducing a new addition to its already vibrant live music scene, the Civic Sessions. The Civic Sessions will be a brief, “unplugged”, or acoustic performance by Carbondale musicians in the lobby of City Hall, starting at 5:30 prior to each City Council Meeting. The inaugural launch of this series will be at the upcoming City Council meeting tomorrow night, December 9. The inaugural performance of Civic Sessions will be a performance by SIU School of Music Faculty & Students. The series is a way to bring residents, students, and neighbors together with their City government to celebrate our talented musicians and foster a shared sense of connection and pride in our community—one song at a time.

The Salvation Army of Southern Illinois is looking for individuals to bell ring for them this holiday season. All money raised at their iconic kettle stands goes toward rent and utility assistance. Money raised in each community stays in that community.
