ON THIS DAY in 1989, “The Simpsons”, created by Matt Groening, premieres on Fox TV as an animated series with the episode, “Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire”.

In Mt Vernon, see THURSDAY NIGHT LIVE! At Cedarhurst. DECEMBER 18/Tomorrow night, see JIVE perform. From 5 to 8pm, tour The Lights and enjoy live music in the Mitchell Museum. The art galleries and Beck Family Center are open all evening. Kids (age 10 and under) get in FREE.

In Johnson County, A Very Merry Eagles Christmas Concert is tomorrow night at Vienna High School in the Upper Gym. Buncombe, Cypress, Vienna Grade, and Vienna High will host the 4th through 12th Grade Band Concert at 7:00 PM. You’re invited to enjoy an evening filled with music, holiday cheer, and community spirit!
The evening will feature performances from the following groups:
4th grade: Vienna Grade Recorder Ensemble
5th Grade Bands: Buncombe, Cypress, and Vienna Grade First Year Band
6th-8th Grade Bands: Buncombe, Cypress, and Vienna Grade Junior High Band
9-12th Grade Band: Vienna High School

In Carbondale, Thankful Thursdays at Grace United Methodist Church in continues
tomorrow. This week's theme is movie night, featuring "A Charlie Brown Christmas." Join them for food and fellowship beginning at 6pm in the church auditorium. Main course and drinks will be provided but attendees are encouraged to bring a snack to share. Bring a small gift for a gift exchange following the movie.
