The SIU women's soccer team started its season off with a 2-1 victory over Jackson State Thursday afternoon.

After a scoreless first half, the Salukis got on the board first in the 50th minute. Jackson State tied it up in the 67th minute before SIU won it on a penalty kick with about ten minutes remaining.

The Salukis' next game is Sunday at I-U-P-U-I in Indianapolis.
