Two Salukis receive MVC scholar-athlete honors

Junior Paige Clubb and senior Adrianna Katcher of the SIU women's basketball team have both received Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete honors.

Clubb was named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete Third Team, while Katcher was one of six honorable mentions.

Clubb has a cumulative grade-point average of 3.937 in elementary education and posted a 4.0 GPA last semester. This season, Clubb is second on the Salukis in three-pointers made with 37 and is shooting 92.3% at the free throw line on the year.

Katcher earned her spot as an honorable mention after posting a 4.0 GPA last semester and has a cumulative GPA of 3.868 in exercise science. The forward's 24 blocks are the most on the team, while her 30 steals rank fifth on the Salukis.

The Salukis will be back on the floor on Thursday at 12 p.m. against Indiana State in the opening round of the MVC Tournament in Moline.
