The player exodus from the SIU men's basketball team following the firing of head coach Bryan Mullins has kicked into high gear.

Over the weekend, five players announced their intentions to enter the transfer portal. That brings the total number to seven.

The latest announcements came from (#4) Clarence Rupert, (#14) AJ Ferguson, (#2) Scottie Ebube, (#32) Jarrett Hensley and (#21) Cade Hornecker.

They join (#0) Troy D'Amico and (#30) Kennard Davis, who had previously announced they were entering the portal.

For those players whose teams are not competing in postseason play, like the Salukis, the the 45-day transfer portal officially opened today (Monday).

SIU is currently conducting a nationwide search to hire Mullins' successor.
