SIU-Carbondale will celebrate its 2024 homecoming from October 7 to 12.

SIU-Carbondale will celebrate its 2024 homecoming from October 7 to 12. The celebration includes a kickoff pep rally, a block party, a performance by country artist Hunter Hayes, the homecoming parade, plus a football game and tailgating.

Registered student organizations, faculty, and staff across campus will participate in the door decorating contest. They must sign up by October 4.

The kickoff pep rally is set to take place Monday, October 7 at 4:30 at Faner Plaza as a start to the week-long celebration.

The Saluki Saloon Old West Casino Night from 7 to 10 pm takes place in the Student Center Ballrooms on Tuesday, October 8.

On Wednesday, October 9, platinum seller and five-time Grammy nominee Hunter Hayes will be the headliner for the Salukis on the Frontier Homecoming Concert, with Tierra Kennedy opening.

On Thursday, October 10, the Saluki Block Party will be from 5 to 8 pm on Lincoln Drive near the clock tower. There will be games, rides, food, a climbing wall, a DJ, and a balloon artist at this free and public fest.

The Alpha Pi Alpha Step Show on Friday, October 11, and The Miss Eboness pageant on Saturday, October 12 are also part of the many events happening during the week.
