Fourteen college students explored legal careers through SIU Simmons Law School’s Pipeline to Practice program earlier this month.
The three-day event featured a simulated law class, courthouse tours, and meetings with attorneys, judges, and faculty. Students also attended a murder sentencing hearing and visited the U.S. District Courthouse.
The program highlights SIU’s 3+3 accelerated law degree, allowing students to complete undergraduate and first-year law studies simultaneously. Dean Hannah Brenner Johnson praised the initiative for opening doors to diverse students considering careers in law.
