My Brother's Keeper, a local group in support of correctional officers is holding a rally this weekend.

Marsha Griffin, the founder of My Brother's Keeper, says this organization aims to support and show solidarity with correctional officers, as well as, their families.

Griffin says this weekends rally is to raise awareness about drug related instances. Several Illinois Correctional Facilities have had issues with drug exposures from mail.

"We're really concerned, you know, even after these employees are decontaminated." says Griffin. "In some cases they've been narcaned twice. we don't know what type of lasting impact, health wise, that those workers will encounter even after the exposure is over, so something must be done."

Griffin says they hope the general public will understand the long-term implications this could have if nothing is done. She also urges the Illinois Department of Corrections to be more upfront and truthful about these issues.

Their rally will be on October 26th at Bald Knob Cross in Alto Pass. The rally starts at 1pm.
