The State of Illinois is reminding that help is available to those struggling to pay their winter heating bills.
The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program or "LIHEAP" can keep the heat on during the cold winter months.
If a household qualifies...payment will be sent directly to the utility. Spokesperson Deidre Coughlin says eligibility is based on your last month of income.
LIHEAP heating assistance applications, including Reconnection Assistance, will continue to be accepted through May 31st, or until funding is exhausted.
