Some of Illinois’ most nostalgic and valuable unclaimed property is going up for auction at this year’s State Fair—and the public can get a sneak peek next Tuesday in Springfield.

Among the 250 lots: baseball cards of Ryne Sandberg, Mickey Mantle, Ernie Banks and Ken Griffey Jr., plus a 10-ounce gold bar, silver coins, a gold Hermes bracelet, and vintage collectibles.

Treasurer Michael Frerichs is hosting the preview August 5 from 10 to 3 at the Marine Bank Building, with a live auction set for August 16 at the fairgrounds’ Lincoln Stage.

All proceeds go into safekeeping until rightful owners are found. Check for unclaimed property at illinoistreasurer.gov/icash.
