Williamson County's State's Attorney is facing a DUI charge.
Brandon Zanotti alerted the media on Sunday of the incident - which happened Saturday night.
Zanotti says he was stopped by Illinois State Police while he was headed home from a friend's house, and that he had been drinking - but believed he was not too impaired to drive.
No one was injured. Zanotti says he takes responsibility for his actions, and won't contest the charge in court. He says he plans to plead guilty and accept the penalties.
This is the second time in as many years that a Williamson County elected official has been cited for DUI. Former Circuit Clerk Austin Crabb was arrested in January of last year - she resigned as a result of public outcry.
