The Carbondale NAACP hosts a meet & greet with Carbondale POLICE CHIEF
ANTHONY COPELAND tomorrow. Hear about Chief Copeland’s vision for the community, ask questions, share your concerns & connect with neighbors. The event is FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC tomorrow at the CARBONDALE CIVIC CENTER from 11:30am to 1pm.

The Friends of the Shawnee National Forest will celebrate their 15th anniversary with a fundraiser on November 8th at Alto Vineyards. Their sustainability efforts in the Shawnee will be highlighted and there will be live music from The Swamp Tigers. Proceeds will support its projects that promote and protect the Shawnee National Forest. Doors open at 6 p.m. RSVPs are encouraged. Email friendsoftheshawnee@gmail.com

Illinois Extension is partnering with Jackson County Health Department to host a Pumpkin Smash on Saturday, November 8 at the Jackson County Extension Office beginning at 10 a.m. You can green up your Halloween by recycling pumpkins into compost. The Pumpkin Smash will offer pumpkin smash games, educational booths, a live tasting, food vendors, and more!
