The Friends of the Shawnee National Forest will celebrate their 15th anniversary with a fundraiser on November 8th at Alto Vineyards. Their sustainability efforts in the Shawnee will be highlighted and there will be live music from The Swamp Tigers. Illinois Extension is partnering with Jackson County Health Department to host a Pumpkin Smash on Saturday, November 8 at the Jackson County Extension Office beginning at 10 a.m. You can green up your Halloween by recycling pumpkins into compost. The Pumpkin Smash will offer pumpkin smash games, educational booths, a live tasting, food vendors, and more!
