A Kidnapping Investigation Continues in Carbondale

A kidnapping investigation is active and ongoing in Carbondale following the recovery of a juvenile female yesterday.

Carbondale police officers received a report that a kidnapping had just occurred in the 200 block of North Wall Street just before. Officers learned that a female juvenile was taken from the scene against her will by a male acquaintance identified as Chrishon A. Sawyer, 18 of Carbondale.

The victim was safely recovered about one hour after the initial report with minor injuries that did not require medical attention. Sawyer was arrested and charged with Kidnapping, Domestic Battery, and Unlawful Restraint. He was transported to the Jackson County Jail.
