State Senator Dale Fowler (R-Harrisburg) is inviting students throughout the 59th Senate District to participate in his 2025 Summer Reading Program. The initiative encourages young readers to stay engaged over summer break while exploring their imagination.
The program is open to students entering Kindergarten through 8th grade. To complete the challenge, participants must read eight books by August 8, 2025. Once finished, students should fill out a summer reading form, have it signed by a parent or guardian, and return it to Senator Fowler’s office:

All students who complete the challenge will receive an official certificate from the Illinois Senate.
“This is a great way to encourage kids to keep learning over the summer while having fun and using their imagination,” said Senator Fowler. “I hope kids throughout the 59th District embrace this challenge and find it to be a rewarding experience.”
