Mt. Vernon, IL – The man convicted of killing a southern Illinois businessman in 2006 has been sentenced to 52 years in prison.
Thirty-two-year-old Demetrius Cole was convicted in March of First-Degree Murder and Robbery in the death of Randy Farrar.
Authorities say Farrar was shot twice in the head during a July robbery of the victim's Mount Vernon home. Farrar was found dead at the bottom of his basement stairs. He'd also been beaten.
Cole's brother awaits trial in the case. Cole's girlfriend, Krysta Donoho, was convicted in 2007 of First-Degree Murder and Robbery and is serving a 45-year sentence.
