Marion man accused of firing gunshots in Carbondale on Wednesday

A Marion man is accused of firing shots on a Carbondale street late Wednesday morning.

Carbondale Police say 24-year-old Bobby Barnes is charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon and he was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.

At around 11:30 a.m.. officers responded to the 900 block of East Walnut Street in reference to a report of shots fired.

They learned the suspect fired several shots and was seen running northbound from the area. No injuries and no property damage were reported as a result of the shooting.

Barnes, who was attempting to run from officers in the 800 block of East Main Street, was quickly apprehended.
